Desperado Declares
The temperature was about five degrees cooler on Sunday than it had been during the week. A lot of shooters anticipated another really hot day and stayed home to take advantage of their A/C. That’s OK, we had enough dyed in the wool shooters to form three posses and we finished shooting eight fun-filled stages before it got too hot. We had 27 shooters.
We’re thinking about incorporating the SASS sanctioned Wild Bunch category in our monthly shoot. As I mentioned at our last club meeting that category uses a 1911 semi auto, a lever action rifle and an 1897 pump action shotgun. At our last shoot I asked for a show of hands of the shooters that were interested. There were a few. We will start a Wild Bunch category in the near future. (Panorama time.) Don said that he would put on a Wild Bunch stage on our Saturday for our members when it doesn't interfere with the other Saturday fun shoots. Any shotgun is OK for our fun shoots.
Shooting a pistol, Rifle and shotgun on one stage is a lot of fun, try it, you'll like it.
The winners of the 1st Wild Bunch match are:
1st: Rob Musso with a time of 44.11 (clean)
2nd: David Franklin 74.52
3rd: Don Busik 76.56
Our entire cook shack crew has retired from service. Lane, Bobby, Gordon and the others have been working it anywhere from eight to fifteen years. They are burned out. We thank them for all of the good food and their hard work through the years. David & Linda Yeats AKA Latin Gun & Latins Lover have agreed to take over in August. They do the cooking for other local shooting clubs and are well known and well liked in the Cowboy Action Shooting community. They cook up a great Breakfast and Lunch.
Thanks to all of the shooters who help us tear down the stages and load the target trailers. A big thank you to Mark Cohen, Douglas DiJulio, Ron Bravo and Dick Conti for unloading the trailers and putting the targets away. Thanks to Willie Clark, Fred Ginsburg, Rob Musso and Linda Rumsey, and Bob Taylor for donating door prizes and items for the upcoming Northfield Raid silent auction.
Hope to see ya all next time

Did you catch Tex Fiddler and Wild Bird (Joe and Linda Provenzano) on the Outdoor Channel’s “Cowboys” series? You should have; they did us proud.
