Desperado Declares

The 13th annual Great Northfield Raid was the best ever.  If you weren't there, you missed a good match. We had challenging stages, door prizes for every shooter, a free give away, neat raffle prizes and superb food.

Ol' Smokey came all the way from Colorado to shoot the match with us and his other friends.  Billy Bob won our annual Fargo Ed memorial award and Johnny Mack Brown won our annual Thunderstick memorial award. The Thunderstick award is donated by Mary and Clint Huffman in honor of Gale Huffman, the fellow who, more than anyone, started Cowboy Action Shooting at Panorama, way back when.

Our annual John Wayne award winners, who were selected by their fellow posse members, are as follows: Posse 2 - Dixie Bell, Posse 3 - Sunset Beauty,  Posse 4 - Tex Fiddler,  Posse 5- Cold Iron Charly.  Congratulations to them all.

We had a celebrity shooting with us last weekend, the gentleman who writes the political column in the Cowboy Chronicle: Colonel Dan.  He came all the way from Florida to shoot with us, accompanied by his lovely wife, Mary. I had the opportunity to converse with them and they are both very nice people. Colonel Dan has bestowed quite an honor on us. The Stealth Bullet Shooting Society has appointed the Northfield Raiders, Regimental Headquarters of California Territory. Wow! Thank you Colonel Dan. If I may be a little immodest, he also bestowed upon yours truly a life membership in the Stealth Bullet Shooting Society, # 1808. Double Wow!  Evernay, Issmay.

The companies who were generous enough to sponsor us are named elsewhere in this issue.  They supported all of us and we need to support them.  So when you hanker after buying a product that they sell, check them out first.

I want to thank all of the members and non-members of Panorama and the Northfield Raiders and especially the shooters who helped make The Great Northfield Raid 2005 a grand success.

Hope to see you all next time
