Desperado Declares

The weather Gods got us again. There was one heck of a surprise storm Saturday night. To start with, a tree had fallen across the road to the range, no problem, several of us shooters that couldn't get through cut and broke enough branches off so we could drive around it. When we got to the range I found more broken branches blocking the roads to some of the stages, facades had blown into the parking area, most of our steel targets were blown down, trash cans were everywhere. The wind was blowing so hard that our cook shack crew couldn't keep the burners lit under the griddles, so they moved down to the green house and served breakfast there. The range was a small disaster. Well, all of the shooters that showed up early, men and women, pitched in, and in less than an hour everything was picked up and cleaned up. I've always said that Cowboy Action Shooters are the best, and Sunday morning proved it again. Thank you all.

The shoot started on time, and then it really got cold and the wind keep blowing, I've never seen it so cold up there and there were a lot wardrobe changes, we all kept our vest, dusters and jackets on until it was time to shoot and then put them right back on before we went to the unloading table. We were there to shoot, and shoot we did. I promise the weather will be better next month, I hope. See ya all next time
