Desperado Declares

We were expecting a very hot Sunday on the third weekend of September, but the weather gods smiled on us again and we all enjoyed shooting on a beautiful day. We saw some more new faces shooting with us, they had a good time and they’re truly welcome.  And of course it's always fun getting together with old friends. The stages were fun and the match went well.

Don't forget to sign up for our 12th annual Great Northfield Raid.   It will be held on October 15th, 16th and 17th. You can pick up an entry form at some of the local shoots or sign up on line.  If you’re reading this, you’re already at out website so just hit the back button and sign up.  Or give me a call.  (818) 341-7255
Hope to see ya all next time.

A happy loser

Goldenruel finally achieved his goal.  He came in dead last.  He accomplished this by having his ammo-picky ‘73 jam and refuse to feed the homespun fodder he brought.  This has happened before but usually his good friend General Pierce was there to beat him out of the honor spot by shooting even worse.

Ruel had a long consultation with Mild Bill Hiccup and a short conversation with D Trader.  A few bucks changed hands and with his new rifle Ruel expects to at least finish the match next time out.

What Ruel wanted to say was that half a dozen other shooters, folks he hardly knows outside of Northfield, offered to lend him digestible ammo and tolerant rifles.  He always knew that cowboy shooters were great guys and gals, but he was overcome by such open-handed generosity.  The company of such fine folks made it a wonderful day even without shooting.  He looks forward to seeing them all again next time.
