Desperado Declares

On our range Saturday in April, it rained, then it hailed. Sunday it was blue skies and fluffy white clouds a great day for shooting. We had some of the nicest and best Cowboy Action Shooters there are. We had a fun shoot, great competition and lots of good door prizes.

In June we will have our 4th annual Guzzler shoot, with some top drawer raffle prizes. The proceeds will go to The Society for the Conservation of Big Horn Sheep. The cost of the raffle tickets is modest and tax deductible. Hope to see you there.

KP is no fun!

And it’s not very glamorous, but Northfield wouldn’t have the best darn cook shack west of the Pecos without it.  Gordon Poll has been quietly serving us for longer than most of us can remember.  He works hard and efficiently without a grumble or a frown.  He’s so reliable that we almost take him for granted and overlook his valuable contribution to our fun.  But no longer.  No, he’s not going to quit; we finally got around to acknowledging him.

Gordy started working the cook shack many years ago under the demanding eye of the late John Doll, so it is appropriate that PSC has named him the recipient of the coveted John Doll Award for 2004. There’s no material award but we hope Gordy knows that it’s an expression of our sincere and utmost gratitude.
